blue smoke and red lips innocence reference photo [link] by ~lorelix04 merci
caran d'ache colored pencils & mostly 3B, B and 9B pencils.
this time i again decided that to make an almost identical copy of a photo isn't actually that interesting, so i played around a bit and decided to add some bright red and smokey blue to the portrait, and i'm quite happy with the result. i am not happy with the shading on the skin, and yes i chose a strong contrast pic cos i'm a lazy ass, and the shape of her head looks odd. i am loving the eyes. (detail shots soon maybe?)
Your technique is wonderful, i mean your ability to represent exactly what you're trying to portray is right on. You've got such a wonderful talent, I'd love to see something besides fashion/magazine portraits.

Well, you've got some of your own photography on here, why not draw from your own work, your own imagination, something that has a lot of meaning and substance?
Don't get me wrong; drawing from magazine pictures is a great way to further your technical abilities. I do that, too, lots of artists do. But I believe art is more than that, it's the creativity process, too, and I think that doing some of your own stuff, working from your own references and ideas would help with this.

Please forgive my mistakes: English is not my first language, but I'm trying my best to avoid being unpleasant to read. ^^
